Dealing With Teen Depression and Suicide with Kristi Hugstad

Ever since author Kristi Hugstad’s husband, after years of struggling with clinical depression, completed suicide in 2012 by running in front of a train, she has dedicated her life to helping to abolish the stigma of mental illness and suicide. That mission, along with the alarming increase in recent years in teen suicide and mental health issues, are what inspired her to write Beneath the Surface — so she can share the things she has learned about mental health that might have saved her husband if she had known them earlier — with as many parents, educators, and teens who have friends in crisis as possible. Join in the conversation on this powerful topic and maybe you can be there to help someone in your life.
