I don’t normally get the mercury retro whammy. Sometimes I actually like the energy of it, since I go slowly back over things and so some re-considering. This time, however, I am in a technology nightmare that is snowballing out of control.
My almost brand new Macbook Pro fritzed on me. Why? The headphones I was using fried something in there. I can’t even figure out how or why. I am on my backup computer which is fine except it doesn’t have my passwords or half the files I need.
I have lost a credit card. (It’s my house somewhere? Maybe, probably???) But I had to jump through hoops to find out if anyone is using it, cuz no passwords.
Now my phone is on it’s last hairy leg and I am not in the mood to try and get a new one right now.
Lot’s of Merc Retro lessons learned.
Password Manager. I am working on it.
Google One and Google Docs. Working on it.
And about 10 other chinks in my tech armor that have been exposed. I know it will all come out smoother, better, faster stronger in the long run.
So it’s all good, right?
I say “working on it”- well my intrepid assistant Kelley Twombly and her husband and tech genius Matt are the ones that jumped on the actual tech grenade, bless them.
But today I wanted to throw my phone on the ground and jump up and down on it. (Why??? don’t have the right password!) I did it in (only my mind) several times and congratulated myself on my maturity level for not actually smashing it.
Did I mention that I am also at the brink of a massive new website upgrade? I think I will wait a few weeks. Zoinks!
