When I was little, I was a huge Star Wars fan and wanted to be a Jedi Knight more than anything. That desire led me to do many cool things, including studying martial arts. I remember lying in bed and saying to myself and the universe that I wanted to work for the side of the Light.
“I choose the light, I choose the light…” I said it like it mattered and it did. And I meant it all the way down to my bones.
I still make that choice every day and now I choose to serve the light by working to bring the light into the unconscious places inside of us, starting with my own.
As we shine the light into the dark, shadowed and forgotten places inside our own psyches, we raise the general consciousness ourselves, each other and the world. People are sooo fascinating to me and the dark, squirmy things that hide back of the closets in our hearts and minds are the most interesting, the most deserving of love, and the Flashlight of Compassionate Witnessing.
Let’s illuminate ourselves from within and by doing so, light up the world. It’s one of the ways that we can save it.
I am headed into another weekend of teaching at the Rhys Thomas Institute, which is our energy medicine school. It’s fantastic work and I am honored to be a part of it. We bring the light there like crazy, since it’s consciousness/mystery school. I can’t wait to start!
