Faith

find comfort and faith in this journey

Faith. Sometimes it takes a big leap of faith to get through our journey here on Earth.

Sometimes, it takes a huge leap of faith to get through the day.

I am re-reading The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coehlo. It’s the first book our new students in the Institute of Energy Medicine, read and it’s one of my favorite books ever. It’s the story of a spiritual pilgrim whose journey down the road to Santiago is a gorgeous example of the path of the Initiate.

Initiates are of those who are being initiated into the greater spiritual mystery schools. We are spiritual seekers, and since I was a child, I have been drawn to this type of story. My first love affair with this topic came from watching Luke Skywalker’s initiation. From the time I was a little Padawan, I have wanted to be a Jedi Knight more than anything.

Luke and Leia Skywalker, Carlos Castaneda. Lynn Andrews. Don Miguel Ruiz. Carolyn Myss. Dan Millman.

They are my heroes, having paved the way ahead, and I bless them for writing about their personal journeys and sharing those highs and lows with all of us.

Today, I find comfort and faith in their stories, since I believe this is a winding path we take, this Path of the Initiate. There are many blind turns and dead ends in this maze, as well as blessing and miracles.

The times when we can’t see the path in front of us, gives us an opportunity to practice faith and grow our intuitive selves.

We are challenged at the gateways by the forces of interference, both human and supernatural. As we wrestle with them, we are strengthened, tempered into something stronger, sharper and more determined. We are better boundaried and stripped of another layer of ego self.

We must at times take the path to the underworld and like Luke in the cave, confront our own shadow selves and in return, receive the gift of self-love and acceptance.

We learn to turn around and see death stalking us, waiting in the dark corners, whereby we receive the gift of living in each moment fully and joyfully.

And we must dedicate ourselves to fully serving others, usually at the expense of our personal will and desires. For this we receive the gift of being in the flow of the Divine Will and living our deepest, most meaningful life purpose.

Today I am finding comfort and faith in remembering that this journey is always full of surprises. Today requires that I surrender another layer of my personal will and driving push to create out of a place of fear.

Today I am falling backwards into faith that the Greater Mystery has my back every time. I know it does, and that is what faith really is. Feeling the truth in my heart and releasing the mind’s addictive need to KNOW what is coming next.

Wheeee!
